“Going Green”

Going Green Pic 2015At Jims Excel Collision, we take several steps to protect our environment. Due to the nature of the business, collision repair facilities are usually high producers of hazardous materials. We do the best we can to be as “green” as possible in terms of what we use and how we dispose of our waste materials.
We are proud to say that we have made a permanent switch to PPG’s high-performance waterborne paint. This environmentally friendly paint system is the best in the automotive industry – truly “cutting edge” technology. Most vehicle manufacturers use waterborne paint at the factory, so it’s only natural to continue the pattern by applying waterborne paint when you need your car refinished. Color matching is a much more natural process since we’re spraying what’s used on your car when it was built.
We pay close attention to how we dispose of waste like used motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, and any other hazardous fluid or material. Jims Excel Collision classifies under a “small quantity hazardous waste generator” in the EPA’s description of hazmat producers. We ensure that all hazardous materials are properly used, stored, and disposed of with environmentally safe procedures.
